I mean, Kay Bailey and John aren’t much of an addition, either. Annise Parker is a nice change, but in terms of overall Democratic presence? We’re blue drops in a very red bucket.
I’m not denying the overwhelming control Republicans have in this state, just expressing frustration with the outsider point of view that writes Texas off as a Republican wasteland while ignoring the diversity, culture and changing demographics. Texas Democrats and other minority groups may be small, but we’re still here and too often I see people that have never even been to Texas spouting off uninformed, stereotypical bs based on Perry gaffes and Bush’s IQ. Meanwhile people like Parker are viewed as exceptions, rather than true Texans.
